Reporting to the Director of Mountain Operations & Facilities, the Fleet Maintenance Manager is a critical position on and off the mountain. This individual is well rounded in vehicle and fleet maintenance ranging from heavy equipment to small engines, with a heavy emphasis on snow cat maintenance. An expert at problem solving and managing operational details, the Fleet Manager is able to keep things in sequence and anticipate both short term and long-term needs for Woodward Park City. This position also requires hands-on fleet maintenance alongside its managerial duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee maintenance needs for WWPC's vehicle & equipment fleet, including but not limited to, snowcats, snowmobiles, automobiles, utility vehicles, heavy equipment, and snow removal equipment.
  • Establish and follow an organized fleet service and maintenance program, including documentation, and record keeping.
  • Manage parts ordering & inventory for the entire fleet.
  • Ensure effective and timely communications across all relevant stakeholders to support operations, and a positive team and guest culture.
  • Provide guidance and support for the planning of Woodward Park City's fleet inventory, including new acquisitions, sales, and trade-ins.
  • Establish, train on & maintain safe use of all tools, equipment, vehicles, materials required by the maintenance operation.
  • Work closely with other stakeholders to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the maintenance shop facility.
  • Manage financial accountability of all fleet maintenance.
  • Implement safety programs within the fleet maintenance department, while working closely with risk management team.

    Qualifications:

     

    • Experience working in the ski industry preferred

    • Experience with snowcats, diesel engines, hydraulic, small engines and welding preferred.

    • Must have excellent comprehensive mechanical and trouble shooting skills.

    • Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks in a timely fashion.

    • Must have excellent basic welding and fabricating skills.

    • Must have good communication skills: oral, written, and reading comprehension.

    • Must have motivation to learn required job skills.

    • Must pay close attention to details.

    • Must have valid drivers' license.

    • Must have Timberline approved driving record.

    MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Timberline vehicle mechanics are required to maintain a personal set of hand tools on site.

    Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

    • Help maintain work orders and maintenance records as directed. 

    • Assist with promoting safety as the number one priority. 

    • Report and rectify any unsafe situation.

    • Experience with working on winter grooming equipment (Piston Bully Snowcats) an asset

    • Good communication skills with ability to work with others. 

    • Ability to think quickly and follow all safety procedures

    • Good leadership qualities. 

    • Working knowledge of current WSBC regulations. 

    • Self-motivated, mature, requires minimum supervision, and works well with others, able to lead by example, willing and able to work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
